BIOGRAPHY
Ambroise HEBERT is a French sculptor born in Normandy in 1989.
From his early teens, he found a passion for wood which has never ceased to accompany him since that day.
After several years of studying cabinetmaking and ornamental sculpture in France, he entered the Brussels Academy of Fine Arts in 2010.
At that point, he left the more traditional craft sector to devote himself primarily to creation.
These few years at the fine arts school allowed for a number of experiments and the discovery of new materials such as metal, stone, and even moldings.
At the end of his studies, he eventually returned to wood with a much more abstract approach to the material. Since then, he has trained in the art of stained glass, which is why wood and glass often appear together in his latest creations.
Within the framework of these contemporary creations, the recurring theme is nature.
The fluid forms in his work are very often accompanied by a contrasting finish of smooth and rough texture.
Through opposition or correspondence, each element finds its balance in matter.
Since 2018, he has divided his time between his workshop in Belgium and various scenography and set design projects in the events sector.
